Transport Definition: Example:
Moving materials throughout an organisms system Example: Blood moving through veins Moving waste from cells to the organs of excretion

Excretion Definition: Example: The removal of waste.
Getting rid of salt or water through urinary tract

Maintaining an internal balance (AKA homeostasis) Example: Using hormones and our nervous system to keep our bodies at balance

Synthesis: Protein synthesis (every living creature does this)
Transport: Butterflies have an open circulatory system to move blood around, this means they do not have veins. Excretion: They excrete the waste they no longer need Respiration: Butterflies breathe using spiracles Nutrition: Most butterflies consume nectar for nutrients. Growth and Development: Butterflies go through metamorphosis. Changing from an egg to larva to caterpillar then an adult butterfly. Regulation: Butterflies have hormones to help regulate their bodies. Reproduction: Butterflies reproduce sexually.
