2 Welcome! We are glad that you are part of our program.
We want to help you succeed. Your success is important to us and to our community. By registering for our classes, you have taken an important first step in reaching your goals and improving your life.

3 Our Classes English as a Second Language (ESL)
Adult Basic Education (ABE) and GED Math Reading Writing

4 Pay It Forward! Your Adult Education classes are free.
Your class is paid for by a government grant. The government will continue to pay for these classes if you come to class often and successfully take the post-test. Please Help Us continue to offer these free classes to you and to the community by being responsible students and more importantly, do your very best on your post-test. When you complete our program, you have opportunities to move on to other programs or to the workplace .

5 Enrichment Center If you need additional help with ESL, Reading, Writing, or Math, you may be able to work with a tutor outside of class. Let your instructors know and they will refer you to our Enrichment Center.

7 Where do I get my Student ID at the Grayslake Campus?
Visit the Library: Circulation Desk or call first at (847) Monday-Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Students will need to bring their current class schedule and a picture ID to receive a student ID.

10 Does CLC offer Child Care while I take classes?
Grayslake Campus Lakeshore Campus Southlake Campus Children’s Learning Center at: For information on fees, times and registration. No Child Care Services offered.

11 Can you tell me about the Bookstores at CLC?
Grayslake Campus (GLC) Bookstore Location: B010 Hours: Monday- Thursday 7:45 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Lakeshore Campus (LSC) Bookstore Location: S116 Monday-Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Southlake Campus (SLC) Bookstore Location: V134 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Rent or buy new and used textbooks and supplies at all stores. Buy computer software, printers and other electronic supplies at the Grayslake bookstore.

12 Parking! Grayslake Campus Southlake Campus
Parking is free but park only in areas marked as Student Parking (Lots 2-6). Do not park in the Job Center parking lot, next to building 4. Do not park in Lots 1, 7 and 8. These lots are for staff and instructors only. Parking is free and you may park anywhere except for parking spaces marked for the disabled.

13 Parking at the Lakeshore Campus
Free parking is in the city parking garage on Sheridan Road behind the Lakeshore Campus building. Park in the spaces marked “CLC Parking Only” on the 2, 3 and 4 levels. A parking permit is required. Go to the reception desk on the first floor of 33 North Genesee. Bring your class registration form. You will also need to know your license plate number. The receptionist will give you a parking sticker.

14 Bus Information RTA buses 570 and 572 come to the Grayslake Campus Monday-Saturday. Bus schedules are available at the information desks at the Grayslake Campus (main lobby), the Southlake Campus (V130), and the Lakeshore Campus reception desk (33 North Genesee). Bus tickets can be purchased at the Grayslake and Lakeshore Campus bookstores. For bus information to the Lakeshore and Southlake Campuses call

15 Do you have a late night class?
Pace offers late bus service from the Grayslake Campus to the North Chicago, Park City and Waukegan areas. Call for more information. This late bus leaves the Grayslake Campus at 10:10 p.m. Monday -Thursday only. Reservations are recommended. Call

16 When will classes be cancelled because of the weather?
Closings will be posted on the CLC Website: Cancellations will be announced on Radio stations Television Announcements of Day Classes cancellations: Will begin by 6 a.m. Announcements of Evening Classes cancellations: Will begin by 3 p.m.

17 When will classes be cancelled because the instructor is absent?
You will receive a text message and an from CLC ahead of time.
