5 Of Sheep, Shepherds & Folds
Sheep and the images of the fold and the Shepard are plentiful throughout the Savior’s message both in the Old and the New Worlds. Let’s review a little 3 Nephi 15-16 Of Sheep, Shepherds & Folds

8 Ezek. 34: 11-12 I will both SEARCH my Sheep and SEEK them out & will deliver them out of all places where they have been scattered. For thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I, even I, will both search my sheep, and seek them out. As a shepherd seeketh out his flock in the day that he is among his sheep that are scattered; so will I seek out my sheep, and will deliver them out of all places where they have been scattered in the cloudy and dark day. 10 I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee
I will be with thee, I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. Joshua 1:5 and will spare no effort to find thee and bring thee into the fold I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee

11 Watch Jesus is the Good Shepherd. He declares that His Father commanded Him to lay down His life, and take it up again. John 10:1-18 (3:18)

When the Book of Mormon speaks of Gentiles it is referring to anyone who is not of the house of Israel or who is not from the land of Israel. Even though most members of the Church today are members of the house of Israel by lineage, to the Book of Mormon people we would be considered Gentiles. What did the Lord promise to would come unto the Gentiles (us)? (the truth, the gospel) Where is the fold? 3 Ne 15:13-15

What are the benefits? 3 Ne 15:1 3 Ne 16:18-19 What did he say would happen if the Gentiles accepted the offer and what would happen if they refused? (See vv. 8-15) (take away the fullness from among them, and they shall be trodden under the foot of the House of Israel) What are the responsibilities 3 Ne 16:10 3 Ne 16:15 3 Ne 16:4

But the benefits are great and the promises are sure It won't always be easy to be a member of the flock, But the benefits are great and the promises are sure!

18 Travel the path with steadfastness in Christ
The path of discipleship can be thrillingly & successfully traveled with steadfastness in Christ a perfect brightness of hope and a love of God and of all men. In courageously pursuing such a course you will forge unshakeable faith. You will find safety against ill winds that blow even shafts in the whirlwind. And you will feel the rock like strength of our Redeemer upon whom if you build your unflagging discipleship you cannot fall
