Miralles’ Works conceptualised poetic ideas of cemetery - cycle of life = link between the past, present, and future blends into landscape (Catalonian)- natural aspect of land organic architecture - concrete, stone, and wood Igualada Cemetery space emphasized by democratic nature site covered in vegetation public entrance, saltire crosses sit embedded in the concrete vaults. Scottish Parliament Olympics Archery Range rhythmic complexity concept: drawings show an overlay of organic curves and rectilinear shapes working in sublime harmony Miralles’ Works Santa Caterina Market Olympic Village Pergola transform the broad avenue into a series of human-scaled experiences pedestrian avenue locate under the pergolas to the mall for neighbourhood services preserve original structure movement (undulating roof) and colorful vibrancy, inside and out colorful mosaic: textured field of flowers suspended in mid-air

Conclusion Miralles’ design depends on the surroundings and is not confined to certain style. The close relation between the openings and the building’s form shows Miralles’ meticulous thinking in architecture. Which is better: To design nothing into something or design based on the relationship with the site?
