1 DEEPER LIFE BIBLE CHURCH
Welcome to DEEPER LIFE BIBLE CHURCH SUNDAY SERVICE Year of Expensive Devotion 08 JULY, 2018

2 HYMN HEAVEN CAME DOWN (GHS 32)

3 HEAVEN CAME DOWN [GHS 32] O what a wonderful, wonderful day, Day I will never forget; After I'd wandered in darkness away, Jesus my Saviour I met. O what a tender, compassionate friend, He met the need of my heart; Shadows dispelling, with joy I am telling, He made all the darkness depart! 1.

4 Heaven came down and glory filled my soul,
When at the cross the Saviour made me whole; My sins were washed away And my night was turned to day! Heaven came down and glory filled my soul!

5 HEAVEN CAME DOWN [GHS 32] Born of the Spirit with life from above Into God's family divine, Justified fully thru Calvary's love, O what a standing is mine! And the transaction so quickly was made, When as a sinner I came, Took of the offer of grace He did proffer - He saved me, O praise His dear name! 2.

6 Heaven came down and glory filled my soul,
When at the cross the Saviour made me whole; My sins were washed away And my night was turned to day! Heaven came down and glory filled my soul!

7 HEAVEN CAME DOWN [GHS 32] Now I've a hope that will surely endure After the passing of time; I have a future in heaven for sure There in those mansions sublime. And it's because of that wonderful day, When at the cross I believed; Riches eternal and blessings supernal, From His precious hand I received. 3.

8 Heaven came down and glory filled my soul,
When at the cross the Saviour made me whole; My sins were washed away And my night was turned to day! Heaven came down and glory filled my soul! END OF HYMN

9 ASSURANCE OF SALVATION
SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES LESSON 700: ASSURANCE OF SALVATION

10 RECAP OF OUR LAST STUDY From our last study, entitled “Adoption and sonship through Christ”, we learnt that God sent Jesus to redeem us so we can be adopted into His family by faith. Those who repent of their sins, forsake rituals and exercise faith in Christ will be saved and adopted into the family of God as His sons and daughters.

11 TODAY’S STUDY: LESSON 700: ASSURANCE OF SALVATION
MEMORY VERSE: “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved?” (Romans 10:9). TEXT: Matthew 1:21; Romans 10:8-13; Ephesians 2:8,9.

12 SUMMARY The foundation of Christian experiences (I Corinthians 3:11; II Timothy 2:19): Salvation is the ground on which all other Christian experiences stand. It is the gateway into God’s Kingdom and the door to other divine blessings. The meaning of salvation (Matthew 1:21; Titus 2:11-14): Salvation is forgiveness of, and freedom from sin, leading to peace with God. Necessity of faith to salvation (Ephesians 2:8,9; Romans 10:9-13): To be saved, one must believe on Jesus as Saviour from sin. It is not how one feels but what God says. Faith leads to forsaking sin and calling on the Lord. Assurance of salvation (Romans 10:8,9; I John 3:10,14): Our assurance rests on God’s word, a changed life and and the witness of the Spirit. Fruits of salvation (II Corinthians 5:17; I John 3:9): Salvation sets us free from all sin and makes us loving, joyful, peaceful, gentle, etc. Danger of neglecting salvation (Hebrews 2:2,3; 10:28,29): To neglect salvation or return to sinning is to deliberately choose perdition in hell.

13 DISCUSSION

14 QUESTION 1 Why is salvation such an all-important subject? John 3:3
Revelation 20:15

15 QUESTION 2 How is salvation in comparison to deliverance, divine healing, prosperity and miracles? Mark 8:36,37 I Corinthians 15:19

16 QUESTION 3 What is the importance of faith to the experience of salvation? Ephesians 2:8,9 How can we benefit from Christ’s sacrifice at Calvary? Romans 10:13

17 QUESTION 4 What is assurance of salvation?
How can on have assurance of salvation? 1 John 1:9; Romans 8:16; Galatians 4:6

18 QUESTION 5 What are the fruits of genuine salvation?
II Corinthians 5:17 Galatians 5:22,23

19 QUESTION 6 What are the dangers of neglecting salvation through Christ? Revelation 21:8

20 CONCLUSION God has given us salvation through the death of Jesus Christ on the Cross of Calvary. Faith in His Sacrifice will make one to call upon His name and get delivered from sin. Our assurance of salvation is based on God’s promise, the witness of the Spirit and the testimony of a new life. To continue in, or go back to sin, is to deliberately choose to perish in the eternal lake of fire!

21 I KNOW WHOM I HAVE BELIEVED (GHS 26)
HYMN I KNOW WHOM I HAVE BELIEVED (GHS 26)

22 I KNOW WHOM I HAVE BELIEVED [GHS 026]
1. I know not why God’s wondrous grace To me He hath made known, Nor why, unworthy, Christ in love Redeem’d me for His own. But I know whom I have believed, And am persuaded that He is able To keep that which I’ve committed Unto Him against that day.

23 I KNOW WHOM I HAVE BELIEVED [GHS 026]
2. I know not how this saving faith To me He did impart, Nor how believing in His Word Wrought peace within my heart. But I know whom I have believed, And am persuaded that He is able To keep that which I’ve committed Unto Him against that day.

24 I KNOW WHOM I HAVE BELIEVED [GHS 026]
3. I know not how the Spirit moves, Convincing men of sin, Revealing Jesus thro’ the Word, Creating faith in Him. But I know whom I have believed, And am persuaded that He is able To keep that which I’ve committed Unto Him against that day.

25 I KNOW WHOM I HAVE BELIEVED [GHS 026]
4. I know not what of good or ill May be reserved for me, Of weary ways or golden days Before His face I see. But I know whom I have believed, And am persuaded that He is able To keep that which I’ve committed Unto Him against that day.

26 I KNOW WHOM I HAVE BELIEVED [GHS 026]
5. I know not when my Lord may come, At night or noon-day fair, Nor if I’ll walk the vale with Him, Or “meet Him in the air.” But I know whom I have believed, And am persuaded that He is able To keep that which I’ve committed Unto Him against that day. END OF HYMN
