A state’s electoral system is part of its spatial organization of government.
Specifically, it is an examination of the dual interaction whereby geographical traits of a territory affects political decisions and geographical structure of the election system affects electoral results.

Comparing the methods of sectionalism in the UK and the US places emphasis on location; instead of basing support for a party by class, even though economics and class consciousness in the Conservative vs Labor era as well as the red blue paradigm.
Canada is often seen as more politically regional than the UK or US.

4. Gerrymandering
Boundaries separating legislative districts within the U.S. and other countries are redrawn periodically to ensure each has about the same population.
435 districts of the U.S. House of Representatives are redrawn every 10 years, following the Census Bureau’s release of the official population figures.
Process of redrawing legislative boundaries for the purpose of benefits the party in power is called gerrymandering.
