2 Welcome to 6th Grade! Please find the yellow schedule with your name on it, this is your seat.
Take the paper on your desk. Fold it in half (hot dog style) Write your name on it. This will be your name card and you will use it for the rest of the week. Follow the rest of the instructions on the board.

10 Supplies 1 spiral notebook (preferably college rule) Glue sticks
Personal dry eraser marker Highlighter Pens/pencils Colored pencils Post-it notes

11 Notebook Students will be required to keep an interactive notebook, which will hold all their notes and a majority of their assignments. Notebooks will be checked.

12 Daily Classroom Procedures
1. Copy HW in planner 2. Update table of contents in notebook 3. Complete “Do Now” activity 4. Stay on task and focused during the lesson/assignment Now let’s practice!! Tardies: You are considered late if you are not in my room (working on the daily procedures) by the time the bell rings. If you are late it will be marked in TAC. Excessive tardiness will equal a consequence.

13 Grading Policy Grading System Homework
Homework 5% ($.05) Minor Assessments 30%, ($.30) Class Work 30% ($.30) Projects/Major Assessments 35% ($.35) All homework and assignments are glued into your notebook unless otherwise stated. Homework is posted on the HW board in class and online.

14 Late Work Policy HW will not be accepted late. However, most classwork may be assigned for HW and that will considered a Classwork grade. Late Classwork/Projects 5 points each day is late. Lowest grade will be a 70% Absences: unless you were in class when it was assigned you have two days for every one day you were out to turn it in.

15 But what if…? Bathroom/Office/Clinic : Water Fountain
School Policy: No movement in the halls during the first and last 10 minutes of class. Raise your hand and ask me! Sign out (Name, reason, time leaving) Take the Pass for the bathroom and fill agenda out for everything else. Bring the pass back and sign in the time you came back) Water Fountain Before or after class Sharpen Pencil/Need Tissues etc… You don’t need to ask me, just go. Wait until I’m done (or a classmate) speaking/giving instruction.

16 Student Help Sessions Thursday Mornings, 8:00-8:40 am
Students will need to obtain a pass in order to attend. Me:

18 Transitions How do we walk in the hallway?
What do I do when I’m waiting for my teacher to let me in? How do we go to connections?

19 How do I get home? Car riders and 1st load will go first?
