2 What Lives on a OUR Beaches?
Plants: seagrass, algae (red, brown & green), dune shrubs, grasses & flowers, trees Invertebrates: annelids, crustaceans, echinoderms, mollusks, cnidarians Vertebrates: mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians & fish

3 Beach Trading Cards Each student will create 3 beach trading cards (that are different from everyone else's in their group) 1 plant card 1 invertebrate card 1 vertebrate card *You must be able to find these organisms here on our beaches!

4 Front of Card For each organism: Common name Scientific name
Genus species or Genus species Color drawing (no printed pictures!)

5 Back of Card Description of the organism/identifying features
*Written like a guide book or fact sheet Description of the organism/identifying features Habitat (Where at the beach do you find it?) Predators & Prey (indicate which is which) Did you know? (something interesting that others may not know) *The Description and “Did You Know” should be written in complete sentences.

6 Don’t Forget! Neatness counts! Proofread!
Write out a rough draft on notebook paper before writing the final version on the card (no scribbling!) Each card will be worth 12 points with an additional 4 points for neatness, proofreading, creativity, etc. The project total = 40 points.
