How is oppression initiated?
Happens when a group in power tries to suppress rights of a group of people to enforce an agenda Initiated through government or leader who comes to power. Has to do with hope and change 1984: party came in during time of badness, came in power in an attempt to change. The public, the oppressed, want something different from society

How do People allow themselves to become oppressed?
Believing ideas of the oppressor Become a habit, oppression is “normalized”, “way of life” Allowance means that there is awarenss and approval, obedient, choice, or choice by passivity

How is oppression sustained?
People given certain rights, only the rights oppressors want tot give you, want to control everything you do. Sustained through fear so no overthrows happen. Through constant brainwashing, fear, paranoia, dependency. Oppressors implement their own version of loyalty.

Get people or the oppressed, on the side of the ideals of the oppressor. Limits free thinking, and eliminate actions the oppressor doesn't want them to do. Take control of actions or thoughts in a cruel manner. To gain power over a mass, stronghold on a society; Implement their own ideas.

Depends on ignorance or knowledge of oppression. If oppression is known, may want to change. Role then would be to stand up to oppressors. Allowing themselves to be controlled by another person

Faith in the oppressor sustains oppression. As long as the oppressed believe that the oppression is need for survival they will remain in a position of subordinance Faith isn’t usually visible, easier to force blind trust – even if reasoning isn’t understood. Easy to take advantage of people if they believe in you.
