Treaty of Versailles, 1919 Peace agreement ending WW1 Germany Punished
Required Germany to admit guilt for World War 1 and pay reparations. Limit military to 100,000 U.S. Senate rejected the treaty to keep the U.S. free from foreign entanglements. U.S. did NOT sign the Versailles Treaty.

Required an end to secret agreements between nations. Self-determination-right for nations to rule themselves. An association of nations to protect the independence of nations (League of Nations) League of Nations was weak, and set the stage for Adolf Hitler in WW2.
