Participation Unit must be in Good Standing for students to participate Officer’s List turned in to INPTA office Annual financial review done and submitted to the INPTA Remits first Dues Installment by Nov. 15th Bylaws approved every 3 years Current year’s 990/990 ez or 990-N filed with the IRS by Nov. 15th Current years’s NP-20 filed with the IN Dept. of Revenue Adheres to the purpouses and basic policies of the PTA

Age Divisions Primary: grades Pre K-2 Intermediate: grades 3-5
Middle School: grades 6-8 High School: grades 9-12 Special Artist students who identify As having a disability or receive Services under IDEA, ADA, or Section 504

How to Enter Students must submit their own artwork inspired by this year’s theme; the student entry form must be attached Entries must meet program guidelines and requirements specific to each category and division Each piece of art must have a title and an Artist Statement (at least 10 words no more than 100) Entries must be submitted or postmarked by January 15th to be eligible Projects may be hand delivered or posted to the chairman Julie Klingenberger 5624 Countess Drive Fort Wayne, In 46815

Categories Music Composition Film Production Photography

Visual Arts 2D and 3D Both fine and design arts accepted: drawings, models, ceramics, jewelry, collage, crafts, fashion clothes, fiber work , computer generated images or mixed media 2D works must be mounted on sturdy materialand no larger than 24x30 including matting; framed pieces will not be accepted Include on digital image with your artwork 3D must contain 3 digital images at different angles; for judging purposes

Dance choreography Solo and ensemble work of all dance styles are accepted Entrant must be the choreographer and may also be one of the performers If background music is used, cite it on the entry form Video file must not exceed 5 minutesand 1 GB in size Accepted formats AVI, FLV, WMV, MOV, and MP4

Film Production Acceptrd short film styles include:animation, narrative, documentary, experimental or media presentation Powerpoint may not be used Entrant must be screenwriter, cinematographer, editor, and producer If background music is used, cite it on the entry form Video file must not exceed 5 minutes or 1 GB in size Accepted formats include AVI, FLV, WMV, MOV, MP4

Literature Acceptable forms of fiction or nonfiction: prose, poetry, reflective essay, screen play, play script, narrative, and short story Students may write in their native language as long as an interpretive english translation is attached Writing must not exceed 2000 words May be handwritten or typed Single-sided print on 8 ½’11 paper or PDF file

Music Composition All music styles and combinations of instrumentation are acceptable Entrant must be the composerand may also be a performer Audio file must not exceed 5 minutesand 1 GB in size Acceptable formats: MP3, WMA, WAV, ACC, FLAC Score needs to be in PDF format (only MS and HS)

Photography Photo must be a single print/digital image
Collages and collections are not accepted Student must be the photographer Digital editing techniques which may be used are multiple exposure, negative sandwich and photogram Print image dimensions must not be larger than 8x10 or smaller than 3x5 If mounted on mat or poster board it may not exceed 11x14 Framed prints are not accpted Dimensions must be at least 640x960 pixelsand 300 dpi Acceptable formats: JPEG, JPG, GIF, PNG

Artist Statement The statement communicates what inspired the work, how it relates to the theme, and the content of the work. The statement must be at least 10 words and not exceed 100.

Congratulatory letters sent to students, Principals, PTA presidents Invitations to parents and teachers Showcase of the art work by artists in that region Medals and certificates given to all students Refreshments served (differs from region to region)
