5. 2. Spills If you spill any chemical follow this procedure.

4. Clean properly as instructed by teacher

Report ANY accident right away. NO MATTER HOW small you think it is.

7. 4. Walkways
Must be left clear. Put your materials UNDER your desk-there will be some labs where I ask you to leave everything in your locker except pencil.

8. 5. Hair/Clothing Long hair MUST be pulled back
Loose clothing must be pulled back also
Avoid sandals when working with chemicals NO

9. 5. FIRE
If something starts on fire, use the fire extinguisher. DO NOT USE water!

If someone is burning use the fire blanket

Stand under shower. Pull handle

11. 7. Wandering room OUT OF SEAT WITH PERMISSION ONLY.
This way we don’t have a collision that causes an larger accident

12. 8. Clean-up
Before, during and after a lab. YOU are responsible for YOUR work area and the area around you. WHAT I CLEAN UP COSTS THE GROUP 10 POINTS PER ITEM
Also the sinks, trash and counters must be left clean.

NEVER PUT YOUR HANDS IN YOUR MOUTH DURING A LAB

If you spill an acid, no matter how small of spill it must be reported right away!!!

FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO DISPOSE OF CHEMICALS
DO NOT just put down the drain.

21. Always add ACIDS SLOWLY to water NEVER WATER TO ACID
REMEMBER A and W like the root beer, for acid N water

22. Reagents
Always read and double check the label on a reagent bottle before removing anything
NEVER NEVER NEVER RETURN USED CHEMICALS TO THE ORIGINAL BOTTLE
