A Few Things to Think About…
This is a compulsory course There is a final exam- no exemptions Pretty much it is highly unlikely that there will ever be homework (but that depends on your own effort during class)

A Few Things to Think About…
Cellphones… During a lesson many of you will look to your phones for some kind of addictive hit, because you are bored, because apparently your parents need get in touch with you at that exact moment or that you have to see what some of your supposed friends have put on instagram which is somehow world changing and has to be looked at and commented on at one.
14
Please, put on your big boy/girl pants on and realize that it’s an unbelievable luxury and privilege to have cell phones, not a right. Just be totally aware of what your responsibility is, if you choose to spend more time on your phones then that will produce a pretty likely result. I will never take your phone…now what will you do?

A Few Things to Think About…
How learning happens- A comment about classes: Sometimes you will have to write notes from the smartboard- don’t like that? Okay then I can give you the textbook pages and you can read them instead This is your first history class since probably grade 6, there is A LOT YOU DON’T KNOW Everything that I ask you to write down will be used at a later date I can only spoon feed you so much- don’t expect it:
17
Here’s the truth… In this class we will learn about YOU
Why is Canada the way it is right now? What might Canada be like when you are my age? How/why did people think differently in the past? What causes events to occur and what are the consequences? History is always about how things change….or is it? Why do we learn about some things and not others
18
That’s a lot questions

“unicorns are scarcely smaller than elephants
“unicorns are scarcely smaller than elephants. They have hair of a buffalo and a single large black horn in the middle of the forehead. They are very ugly brutes to look at…not at all as we describe them to be…”

So what do you know?
