2. Who Was Gianni Versace?
He was born on December 2nd of 1946 in Reggio Calabria, Italy. Gianni was fashion designer founder of international fashion house, Versace. He became one of the top fashion designers of the 1980s and '90s. He also designed costumes for theatre and films.

3. Early life
Gianni’s mother owned a successful dressmaking business in his hometown of Reggio di Calabria. When Versace was a child he watched how his mum worked on designs in her boutique, and he developed his craft. He created his first dress at the aged of nine in After graduating from high school, Versace worked for a short time at his mother’s shop before he moved in 1972 to Milan, he worked for well- known Italians label like Genny, Callaghan and Complice.

5. Fashion Empire
Gianni built a fashion empire by producing outfits that oozed sensuality and sexuality. He opened his Milan boutique in 1978 and in the same year was presented his first Gianni Versace collection. Siblings this famous designer supported and helped him built this company. His sister Donatella was the Creative Director and his brother Santo was the president of the company.

6. Fashion show
Before Versace media didn’t care about catwalk show. Gianni was scandalmonger of his time. During his fashion show people could see strong colors, deep cuts, and loud music. He endorsed models as celebrities and made with fashion art. Gianni’s favourited model was Naomi Campbell whoes shape of body was perfect to his bold creations.

7. Fame
Gianni Versace had a lot of friends as Eric Clapton, Diana- Princess of Wales, Madonna, Elton John, Cher, Sting, Andy Warhol and many other celebrities. Plenty of people in show- biznes wanted to wear his dresses. He was also one of the first designers who linked fashion to the music world.

8. Design
After success in fashion world Gianni Versace interested in design. In 1993 he created furniture and different equipments for house which called Versace Home Signature. He connected modernity with antiquity and italian classicism what became Versace company brand (head of Medusa and meander).

9. Death
Versace was only 50 years old when he was murdered outside his South Beach home in Miami, Florida, on July 15th in The beloved fashion designer was gunned down by 27-year-old spree killer Andrew Cunanan, who was found dead in a Miami Beach boathouse, eight days later. Gianni left a fashion empire worth £500 million and he left 50% of it to his niece Allegra Versace. After his death, Donatella took over as head designer for the Versace label.
