Psalm 150

2 Where to Praise Him “Hallelujah” In His sanctuary – a sanctified place where we find God - Jerusalem - The temple - Zion – where God meets with His people - Heaven – Psalm 15, 24:3-6 Acts 17:24-25

3 Where to Praise Him In His mighty firmament – the heavens - Creation declares His greatness – Romans 1:20, Psalm 19:1-6

4 Why Praise Him For His Mighty Acts – all that He has done. We have seen His mighty hand at work with (and against) Israel, individuals and other nations. Deuteronomy 3:24

5 Why Praise Him According to His excellent greatness – how much greater is He than we are? Such can cause us to humbly see our place before Him! Never forget the abundance of His goodness, etc.

6 How to Praise Him With instruments (3-5) – sound of the trumpet - with lute and harp - with timbrel - with dance - stringed instruments - with flutes - with cymbals, loud and clashing

Some suggest that God never commanded their us, but tolerated or allowed them Amos 6:5 – who sing idly on the sound of stringed instruments, and invent for yourselves musical instruments like David. The context (6:1-8) is addressing their ease in Zion. Pride and arrogance and being flippant about serving God. Can we be guilty of just going through the motions, or being heartless in our singing today?
