2 WW2 Asia/Pacific 1941 – 1945 How did the Allies win the war against Japan?

3 On December 7th, 1941, Japan removed the biggest obstacle to increasing its empire: the U.S. Pacific Fleet in Hawaii. Within a few days, they would repeat their success against the U.S. air base in the Philippines, and British bases in Singapore and Hong Kong.

4 Once all rival military power in the region was gone, Japan was free to invade the resource rich areas that were its main goal.

5 Within the first few months of the war, Japan’s strikes against enemy military installations and resource rich territories gave them a huge empire.
