1 Quality Management of the Medical Services Structure
and its role in streamlining communication between medical and non-medical structures within Buhuși Local Hospital. Constantin POIANĂ , quality manager, healthcare services evaluator.

2 Q.M.S. = Quality Management of the Medical Services Structure (according to Orderdinance 975/ 2012 ) Ordinance published 5 years ago in “ Monitorul Oficial” of Romania.

3 Communication Definition = to make something known, transmit something to someone (verbally or in writing), to let them know; to notify, to inform, to say.

4 The role of this relatively new structure, at the level of the healthcare system can be one of extreme importance in terms of communications and streamlining it, due to the fact that Q.M.S. is composed of diverse professional categories, such as medical doctors, nurses, assistants, legal advisers, economists etc.

6 How did we do it?! We have established Q.M.S. since December 2012. We have attracted experienced people in the structure, medical doctors, nurses, economists ,legal advisers. We are in a full formula, we work as a team and we know what we must do!

7 We have prepared for the certification process for ISO standards.
We have prepared for the evaluation visit regarding the accreditation. We actively participate in the development of the hospital’s organizational structure according to patients’ requests. We came up with proposals and successfully completed rehabilitation and internment conditions improvement projects.

8 Every month we analyze the patient satisfaction questionnaires and according to these we come up with proposals for improvement within the meetings of the Director Committee and the Medical Council, meetings that we are always invited to. We are dealing with post-accreditation monitoring. We initiated the medical/clinical audit plan. We meet monthly with the chiefs of all medical and non-medical structures to discuss about what is not going properly and what we can improve.

9 In this sense we can say, without mistaking, that teamwork and communication are fundamental processes between members of an organization. We understood this from the beginning and thus managed to make thing work well , we are a well recognized and respected structure at the institution level precisely because we know how to communicate, how to work as a team and how to let others know about our mission and our vision! Teamwork is the ability to work together to achieve a common idea. The capacity to direct individual achievements to organizational goals. 10 This was, in short, a model of good communication and teamwork a model that, we believe, works and evolves permanently, the Q.M.S. within the Buhuși Local Hospital!
