Teamwork Companies are looking for candidates with good interpersonal and team skills. They want employees who can participate and collaborate with others. Because companies must be able to rapidly innovate, they are dependent on diverse teams to help them deliver the new products and services they need to keep their companies growing.

What did you enjoy about being on that team? What did you not enjoy about being on that team?

Teams Work! Take a look at these facts and together, decide which of the two is correct. Begin by deciding how you will come to consensus. Conflict, when well managed and focused on a team’s objectives, can generate more creative solutions. 1 Teams that stay together longer play together better. 2 Small teams are more efficient – and far less frustrating. 3 Teams working remotely are at a considerable disadvantage. There are benefits to sizing up your teammates face-to-face. 4 Teams are most successful when team members competently manage themselves. 5 To succeed, teams need a clear statement of what the team is to accomplish and the resources and support to make it happen. 6 This is another option for an Overview slide.

REMEMBER In a job interview, it is not good enough to simply say “I am an excellent team-player.” You must be able to offer examples of successful team experiences. Share one team experience you would use in an interview!
