The Purpose of Strategic Visioning
* Develop an inspiring 10+ year vision and five year plan that will establish strategic priorities and guide the board, school leadership and the school community in determining how to address needs and allocate resources in order to ensure a thriving future * Gain the support and buy-in from those who will be central to successful implementation of the vision and plan, through creating multiple avenues for engagement, listening deeply, and valuing their diverse perspectives

Opportunities for Engagement
Interviewees: (25-30) (15 Externals- Thought Leaders, Educators, Community Partners, Alumni) (10 Internals- Alumni, Current Staff/Faculty, Board Members) (February - March) Open Community Forums: Families, Faculty, Staff, Students, Alumni (February 28th-March 27th) Surveys: Current Parents, Students 6th-12th, Alumni, Faculty/Staff (March 28th-April 11th) Focus Groups - Topics that come from our “discovery process” (6 sessions) (April) Conference- A Microcosm of the School Community, Families, Faculty/Staff, Students, Alumni, Community Partners, Board (70-90) (May 11th-12th) Community Update Meeting - After the Conference - (TBD)

The 5 P’s These are strategic themes around which we explore/discovery strengths, needs & opportunities during interviews, forums & surveys People- includes considering who we enroll & who we employ & partner with to deliver our program & advance our mission as we look to the future. Program- includes examining & reimagining the depth & breadth of our program & understanding what we can do to spark each student’s love of learning & prepare them for future success. Place- includes exploring how our facilities & spaces attract families & support best practice in teaching, learning & program excellence. Prosperity- includes our capacity to grow & deepen our program & provide access to our school through financial resources. Public Perception- includes understanding how we are perceived by the community & establishing & sustaining our desired position in the educational marketplace.

Framing Questions These questions have been brainstormed by the Core Working Group from an initial deep dive into the 5 P’s. They will be further refined by the Steering Committee. 1. Who are Girard students in 2027? 2. What will be distinctive about our educational identity & the outcomes of a GC education? Why Girard? 3. How can we ensure financial, programmatic & community vitality through strategic partnerships & community engagement? 4. How will our physical plant advance our program & mission in 2027? 5. What are our diversity objectives relative to who we enroll & who we employ?
