What is exchanged between the Earth’s spheres?
Matter & Energy
The biosphere and geosphere interact when byproducts of decaying organisms mix into soil and plants and take in nutrients from the soil.
The atmosphere and hydrosphere interact when wind causes waves in the ocean.

4. Earth’s Energy Budget The Earth’s main energy source is the sun!
Energy flows into Earth’s system as sunlight and escapes from Earth’s atmosphere as heat
An unbalanced energy budget could increase or decrease global temperatures.
Increased greenhouse gases can trap energy in the atmosphere, increasing temperatures
Melting polar ice caps absorb more energy, increasing global temperatures.

Create an “Earth Factory”
Create your own factory that shows how different parts and processes that make up the Earth System work together. Draw a diagram to show the spheres of Earth as if they were components of a factory. The diagrams should have a label of each representation and include a description of the role of each component
