6. The idea
DEVELOPMENT OF AN ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE BASED TECHNOLOGY FOR AUTOMATIC CONTROL OF ESTHETICAL PROCESS QUALITY
Market needs and critical points:
The market is the production of Industrial goods with high esthetical added value
The consumer pays to receive an emotional response looking its product: esthetical defects are not admissible
Actually, the esthetical quality control is made by human operators: not objective & reliable, highly expensive and time consuming

7. The idea
OUR IDEA: the development of automatic control stations able to check, control and classify the esthetical defects at the end of process lines through an Artificial and Intelligent Vision Systems
WHAT TECHNOLOGY: Our systems will be made by a HD equipment and a SW “Intelligent Core”
HD part (HR cameras and/or Laser scanner, Small Robots for part manipulation, Support structure) allows to acquire images of exterior surfaces to be controlled as an electronic eye
SW “Intelligent Core” will elaborate the images to recognize and classify the defects and to avoid that a defected good can be put on the market
The SW will use Artificial Intelligence algorithms in order to implement a machine learning approach for esthetical defects training & recognition

Thanks to the development of Artificial Intelligence and Automation solutions, we wil supply the most complete offer to the market, that will integrate the critical analysis of defects (recognition and classification) with an industrial automation approach (realiability & objectivity of the results)

10. Investment Plan and Business Model
We estimate an initial investment of 1 M€ in HD/SW to realize a Machine Learning Laboratory for esthetical defects training on industrial products
Our BM is based on the development and sell of an equipment and a SW tool for defects classifications that will be integrated to the customer production line

ACTUAL INVESTMENT OF SSM: SSM is investing 0,5 M€ in a public research poject (Total PROJET BUDGET 1 M€) to realize whitin 1,5 year a TRL 6 prototype. OUR GOAL IS TO ACCELERATE THIS RESEARCH AREA TO REACH A TRL 8 PROTOTYPE WHITIN THE END OF 2018
