GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
Courses How Many? English (I, II, III, and IV) 4 Math (I, II, III, and a fourth math class) Science (Earth, Biology, and physical science or chemistry) 3 Social Studies (Civics, World, American I & II or AP US & 4th social science) Health/PE 1 Electives 6 CPR P Total Credits 22* *Total credits change if you are coming from a block school ** Don’t forget you will likely NEED CPR if you came from out of state or a private school

REGISTRATION Register for courses through Powerschool
You MUST also return your paper registration sheet Remember you have to register for 6 courses/credit hours in Powerschool (or 7 if you want to take a zero period) NO schedule changes once you receive your schedule so please choose wisely If you plan to take more academic classes than the normal 4 (English, history, math, science), choose from “Academic Electives”

Need to know You do not need to register for a “lab” if you are taking an AP science course Labs are optional for AP Art courses (but you still have to complete the same amount of work) Choose THREE alternates on your paper registration ONLY If you want to take a class during zero period, you must CLEARLY indicate which course this will be on your PAPER REGISTRATION Zero period: 750am-8:50am Zero period courses this year: Health & PE, Weight Training, Hns. Eng II, IB Theory of Knowledge, AP Calculus, Jazz band, AP Earth, IB 20th Century

Waiving a teacher recommendation
If you want to take a class not recommended by your teacher, you must do several things: Indicate you are overriding your teacher’s recommendation on the paper registration Talk to your counselor Have your parents sign a waiver YOU CANNOT SWITCH BACK OUT OF A CLASS

WEAVER COURSES Transportation will provided to and from Weaver
Weaver courses are periods 1 & 2 or 5 & 6 Must select 2 if you choose to take Weaver classes Weaver makes the determination of when your courses will be held If a Weaver course conflicts with a NC Graduation Requirement then you will be dropped from your Weaver course See your counselor to sign up for a list of Weaver courses and to sign up Some examples of Weaver courses: Automotive technology, culinary arts, computer programming, game design

POWERSCHOOL LOG IN To log into Powerschool your username is your lunch number and your password is something you have determined Your current teachers can reset your password if you have forgotten it

Timeline 3/14: Received paper registration sheets from English teacher
Teachers, parent, and student must sign 3/20: Paper sheets due back to English teachers (keep yellow) 3/20-3/28: Powerschool portal is open for student registration (till 8am on the 28th) 3/21-3/26: Computer lab (300) open for help with registration After spring break: Individual meetings with counselors during English classes
