2 Our school project STEP 1 Heatley Secondary College is in the catchment of Louisa Creek. We work on Louisa Creek weekly.

3 STEP 2 We need to make students aware of creek pollution in our school catchment area. STEP 3 We have school - based projects to reduce rubbish in our school

4 Jobs Our school works with Conservation Volunteers by: getting data counting fish counting water-bugs measuring oxygen, acid and alkali levels rubbish control and planting

16 Week 2: Rain washes the plastic into the drain. It floats down the creek and out to sea.

18 Week 10: The turtle decomposes. The plastic floats away.

22 Internet picture Rubbish thrown on the ground is one of the biggest killers of marine life, so please dont throw your rubbish on the ground! Put it in the bin.

23 Plastic – Whale Killer An atuopsy found that the whales stomach was tightly packed with plastic – almost six square metres of it! The whale had swallowed supermarket bags, food packaging, three large sheets of plastic two metres long and fragments of garbage bags.

25 Please help protect our environment. Seabirds are not only killed by oil spills. This fairy penguin (below right) was trapped by one of the plastic rings used to carry packs of beer.
