3 Origins of Hinduism One of the world’s oldest
3rd largest religion after Christianity and Islam Developed by the Aryans Started off as Brahmanism Sacred writings called the Vedas

4 Vedas Had to be memorized by Brahmin priests Spoken out loud
After Aryans developed writing, the Vedas were written down in Sanskrit

5 The Vedas Vedas- "Books of Knowledge"- written in Sanskrit
Epic poems and hymns written about the great warriors and heroes of ancient India. Rig Veda- most important and oldest of the Vedas. Contains the stories of the origins of the world Brahma, the creator, created the universe and it will eventually expand and get destroyed Then, a new universe will be created. This has been done already an infinite number of times.

What a person does in previous life will decide how they are reborn If a person has bad karma, they are reborn in a lower form When good people die, they are reborn in a higher form of life

14 Dharma Personal duty to earn a better existence in the next life
Hindus believe that if a person creates a good karma and fulfills their dharma then their souls will be reincarnated into a better life. If you had a bad life, then you will be reborn into a lower caste.
