to provide accommodation, food , drink and liberal service to strangers and guests. Part of this is to provide a friendly and welcoming environment. Mostly, customers are not known to us. Through researching your target customer/group, pre planning and training in customer service it is possible to aim for levels of service that will provide your customer with a positive experience to remember.

Hospitality is not only focused on the international traveller
Hospitality is not only focused on the international traveller. The majority of Hospitality businesses service the local tourist and local residents. There is an integral link between the Hospitality and Tourism industries. Many of the services provided by the hospitality industry are dependant on the tourists visiting that destination. The tourist industry relies on the hospitality industry to provide these services and facilities to make it a viable tourist destination.

The Multiplier Effect is Best described as:
When money is spent by a tourist to pay for an item or product. The money is then used by the hospitality workplace to pay its staff. The staff then use their wages to pay for goods and services in the local community. The money then goes in to the community and is used over and over to benefit the economy for all.

The hospitality industry impacts on other Industries in many ways. A healthy hospitality industry is good for the economy as it relies on interactions with a diverse range of businesses for supplies and products. Tourism / Hospitality Industry next to Health, Education and Agriculture is one of the main contributor and employer to / in Australia's economy.
