What does my animal look like?
Mallard ducks have feathers that can be, brown, yellow, green, black, white or gray with orange feet. These ducks weigh up to 3 pounds. They can be as tall as 5-29 inches. Female mallards are called hens, males are called drakes. This animal is a reptile with a tail but no ears. Mallards have up to 8-12 eggs when laying them.

Where does my animal live?
Mallard ducks live in any shallow lakes, rivers, mashes, or ponds.

What does my animal eat? The Mallard duck is a herbivore that eats: water plants, grasses, seeds, insects, and frogs. The mallards predators are crows, hawks, raccoons, skunks, pike and muskies, and snapping turtles.

Mallard ducks could travel over 3,000 miles to migrate and know which direction south is! Baby mallards at one day old can swim and don’t need swimming lessons!
