2
Scrooge Scrooge and Marley had been partners in London for many years.
After Marley’s death, Scrooge continued with the business alone.
3
He was a hard, clever, mean old man. The cold inside him, made his eyes red and his thin lips blue.
4
On Christmas Eve, Scrooge
was working busily. His nephew visited him and they began to speak about Christmas.
5
Scrooge was very angry and said
that everyone who goes around saying “Merry Christmas” should have his tongue cut out.
6
Then two gentlemen visited him.
They helped poor people who had no food or clothes and they asked Mr. Scrooge for help. He refused.
7
When he reached his front door
he saw that the knocker had become the face of JACOB MARLEY!!!
8
Scrooge was shocked when Marley’s Ghost appeared in front of him!
9
The ghost’s eyes stared fixedly at
Scrooge and said that three spirits are going to visit him:
10
The first, the next day at one o’clock,
the second at the same time the next night and the third at midnight the following night.
11
The first spirit was the ghost of Christmas Past.
12
It took Scrooge to the scenes of his childhood and youth. He was shocked to see a young Scrooge, a lonely but imaginative boy.
13
He recognized the Old Fezziwig
with his family. They were celebrating Christmas and they danced a lot.
14
The second spirit was the ghost of
Christmas Present. It seemed specially interested in poor people.
15
When it saw people pushing
each other or getting angry, it lifted its torch over their heads, and immediately they became kinder.
16
The spirit showed him the Cratchit household. The ghost informed Scrooge that the Cratchit’s good-hearted boy, Tiny Tim, would die.
17
A ragged boy and girl crawled out from the ghost’s robe. The spirit called them CRIME and NEED.
18
The third spirit was the ghost of Christmas Yet to Come.
19
It showed Scrooge several scenes
of people discussing someone’s death, no one seemed pained by the death and most were happy about it.
20
Scrooge discovered that he was
the one who had died and whose death had only pleased people.
21
He expressed the hope that the future could be changed.
22
Scrooge woke up in his bedroom and realized that the whole adventure took only one night.
23
In addition to smiling and being friendly
to everyone he saw, he sent a large turkey to the Cratchits, gave a donation to the charity workers he previously insulted. Also, he had a wonderful time at Fred’s party.
24
He never had any more conversations
with spirits, but kept Christmas cheerfully and lived a happy life.
25
THE END!
