Comparing Decimals Numbers to the right of the decimal point are smaller than numbers to the left. Larger Numbers Smaller Numbers

8 Let’s Investigate! Tenths Place- Takes this ones cube and divides it evenly 10 times. Hundredths Place- Takes this ones cube and divides it evenly 100 times. Thousandths Place- Takes this ones cube and divides it evenly 1000 times. Teacher will shade in the squares that represent each of the red amounts.

9 Which is greater: 0.6 or 0.58 ?

10 Hint: One trick is to add a zero to the end of the number so that both numbers are balanced. Then select the higher value. 0.60 0.58 0.6 > 0.58
