Thinker I think about my work and I think
about how to do my best work. I solve problems and make good decisions. We use critical and creative thinking skills to analyse and take responsible action on complex problems. We exercise initiative in making reasoned, ethical decisions. Students know that in IT we think carefully, we make decisions and we are problems solvers. Thinking is one of the attributes of the IB Learner Profile. Thinkers are defined in the following way: They exercise initiative in applying thinking skills critically and creatively to recognize and approach complex problems and make reasoned, ethical decisions.

Caring I care about how other people feel. I help people when they need me. We show empathy, compassion and respect. We have a commitment to service, and we act to make a positive difference in the lives of others and in the world around us. I've just read an excellent blog post today on Caring in Education which I found following a tweet I was so excited, as I finally managed to meet Vicky in person yesterday afternoon after following her on Twitter for a while. We are both teachers, we both arrived in Switzerland at the same time last year and by a strange coincidence both ended up living in the same place, and while we have had different experiences we have a lot of common ground too.

Communicators I listen to the ideas of others.
I express myself in a clear way so others can understand me. We express ourselves condently and creatively in more than one language and in many ways. We collaborate effectively, listening carefully to the perspectives of other individuals and groups. Communication can be delivered in a variety of forms and it is important to engage boys in any and all of these, including the use of digital and electronic devices. Speaking and listening are imperative traits to build which aid learning and lifestyle. Are you a good communicator? Can you speak a different language? Do you demonstrate this to your son and assist him in becoming a better communicator

Knoweledgeable I am learning about myself and
how to get along with others. I enjoy asking questions to learn about the world "We develop and use conceptual understanding, exploring knowledge across a range of disciplines. We engage with issues and ideas that have local and global signicance." TOK students strive to be knowledgeable about the nature of knowledge. This means becoming knowledgeable about the methods of inquiry of a variety of subject areas, from a number of perspectives. Students are encouraged to explore the processes by which individuals arrive at their own knowledge and understanding of the world and the presuppositions that underpin this understanding.
9
Open-Minded TOK students need to be open-minded about knowledge claims they encounter. They will learn not to simply accept claims at face value, but to consider the factual accuracy of any proposition and the potential emotional, social or cognitive bias of any person making a proposition. At the same time, they must learn to balance skepticism with belief, and recognize that in many situations there is a need to make decisions without possessing absolute certainty. I listen to other people’s thoughts and ideas. I like to try new things.
10
Balanced TOK students are committed to viewing knowledge claims from different perspectives. They are also required to consider a range of areas of knowledge. TOK requires a balance of ability in speaking and writing, and a balance of ability in drawing general conclusions from specific examples and in drawing on specific examples to demonstrate general claims. I have many interests. I use my time wisely. I am learning to take good care of my body and my brain.
