HCS has developed a Virtual Course Guide that will allow parents and students to explore the various career, honors, magnet, AP/IB programs offered.

Placement Recommendations
Placement Recommendations will provide parents a guide to selecting honors and AP courses. Placement Recommendations Students may enroll in Honors/Advanced Placement courses in one of three ways: Student meets these placement recommendations for enrollment in the Honors/AP course. Teacher recommends student for Honors/AP course. Parent requests student enroll in Honors/AP course.

Ninth Grade Geometry, Honors Course average: 75 or above in Algebra I, Honors ASPIRE Math Scaled Score: 422 or above EXPLORE Math: 17 or above Algebra I Course average: 65 or above in Math 8 ASPIRE Math Scaled Score: 420 or above EXPLORE Math: 14 or above Biology, Honors Course average: 75 or above in Physical Science 8 , Honors OR 85 or above in Physical Science 8 ASPIRE Science Scaled Score: 425 or above EXPLORE Science: 18 or above English 9, Honors Course average: 75 or above in English 8, Honors OR 85 or above in English 8 ASPIRE Reading Scaled Score: 423 or above EXPLORE English: 13 or above EXPLORE Reading: 16 or above World History 9, Honors Course average: 75 or above in Social Studies 8 , Honors OR 85 or above in Social Studies 8

Registration for 2015-2016 will take place March 12- April 3, 2015.
Students in grades 5 through 11 will receive a registration form along with an elective sheet. School counselors will guide students through the registration process: timelines, procedures, course selection, prerequisites, placement recommendations, etc. High school counselors will collaborate with middle school counselors to help students prepare for high school registration. Students and parents will receive verification of selected courses in late April or early May.
