3 TSDS Updates and Dashboard Upgrade

4 TSDS Code Table Changes
The STATE-ABBREVIATION-TYPE code table (DC124) will now include state abbreviations for all Armed Forces addresses and U.S. Territories. The ASSESSMENT-CATEGORY-TYPE code table (DC011) now includes additional exam categories to allow TEA to leverage Ed-Fi metric visualizations. Assessment - Aligned to new Ed-Fi standards

5 Dashboard Upgrade TEA will upgrade the Dashboards to v.2.0 prior to the end of the school year. The upgraded version includes: New underlying technology Dynamic Watch Lists Usage Module

6 Dynamic Watch Lists New dynamic lists will be set based on criteria.
Current watch lists are tied to specific students. New dynamic lists will be set based on criteria.

7 Dashboard Usage Module
The Ed-Fi Dashboard Usage Module helps ensure frequent and effective use by educators. It allows administrators to monitor usage across the district or campus. It allows teachers to show use of data tools during reviews.

8 Early Learning Metrics

9 Early Learning Metric Overview
TEA will add early learning information and metrics to the Dashboards beginning Summer 2018. New metrics will be rolled out in a phased approach, beginning with enhancements to the student, campus, and district information pages. Subsequent phases will include progress monitoring results and teacher certification information.

10 Current Pre-K Students
Updates to the School Information section include: Half-day/full-day designation Program type Program funding sources Draft

11 Former Pre-K Students TEA will add a new Early Childhood Information box for students in K-3. For each available provider: Year Campus Program Duration of Participation Draft

12 Campus Information TEA will add a new Early Childhood Information box for campuses serving Pre-K. New information will include: Half-day/full-day Program type Funding sources Curricula taught on the campus Draft

13 District Information TEA will add a new Early Childhood Information box for campuses serving Pre-K. New information will include: Half-day/full-day Program type Funding sources Curricula taught across the LEA Draft

14 Assessment Conversion: TEDS-AI

15 TEDS-AI Update TEA and Region 10 have updated the underlying technology and installer and combined the Eduphoria! and SAT tools. V.0.2.x. is available for download at S+Power+Tools+Home TEA is currently testing v.0.3. If you are interested in testing ACT, PSAT, and AP, Report any issues through TIMS.

16 TEDS-AI Enhancements TEDS-AI enhancements will focus on early learning assessments. Assessments that provide a student results file to districts are ideal candidates for TEDS-AI. Please submit suggestions for the next round of targeted assessments to

19 STAAR and TELPAS Assessments
TEA will load state assessment results to the Dashboards on the following schedule: STAAR EOC (December administration): February 2018 STAAR (March administration): May 2018 TELPAS: June 2018 STAAR (May administration): July 2018 STAAR (June administration): August 2018 Note: All dates are tentative.

20 Common Issue: Homeroom Indicator
Many of the metrics in the EOY snapshot rely on the correct designation of the Homeroom period using Homeroom Indicator. This most often shows as an Average Daily Attendance metric value of 100% and/or a Days Absent value of 0%. Homeroom Indicator is defined for each student in Interchange StudentEnrollment, StudentSectionAssociation Complex Type. More information is available in the studentGPS® Metric Guide at castro.tea.state.tx.us/tsds/metrics/MetricsDB_Docs/metrics.

21 Preparing for End-of-Year (EOY)
Missing metrics reports will be sent to all ESCs. ESCs should work with LEAs to review the quality of their current Dashboard metrics and load any missing data. Verify state assessment loads in late spring. Support and technical assistance will be available!

22 End-of-Year (EOY) Processing
District-Facing Option Verify Data Counts *TEA will perform EOY Processing for any LEA that does not perform this function

23 Preparing for Move any QA districts into Production prior to the snapshot. Use spring to plan for summer/fall rollout, including summer/BOY professional development opportunities. There are several benefits to districts that move to Production in spring for a fall rollout, including: Availability of historical data State assessment scores Completed QA process using full data set with questions!

24 Training Updates

25 Training Update, Overview
The revised training focuses on the four main “hats” of Champions: Champion as Learner (initial certification process) Champion as Trainer Champion as Ambassador Champion as Supporter TEA revised the course content and structure based on feedback from the Champions and the Dashboard Advisory Group to better meet the needs of Champions, Stewards, and end-users.

26 Training Update, Course List
The new Dashboards 101 suite includes revised courses for Teachers and Administrators and a new course for Stewards. Courses regarding specific uses of the Dashboards were revised and shortened. Champions and Stewards will have new Train-the Trainer resources for the Dashboards 101 courses. Two new courses will be available regarding Dashboard promotion and implementation.

Dashboard modules were revised to align more directly to the videos currently available, including: Parent Teacher Conference ARD and SST Meetings Early Warning Indicators Interventions Student Goal Setting LEA and Campus Improvement Planning The modules have a flexible structure that allow for a short version (~15 minutes) and an extended version (up to 1 hour).

28 Training Rollout, Spring 2018
TEA piloted the revised training during the February Dashboard Champion certification training. Updated content is currently available via existing materials links. TEA will host a webinar in the spring to provide an overview of the redesigned materials.

29 Training Rollout, The Summer Dashboards Refresher Webinar will be held August 8, 2018, and will cover: Dashboard updates for the school year, including new features of the upgraded Dashboards; and Overview of the new Dashboards Promotion and Outreach and Implementation Planning modules. New User Certification Training will be held in November at TEA. Both new ESC staff and existing certified Champions are encouraged to attend to experience new training materials and learn about upgraded Dashboards.
