There was about 30 doctors, including Mengele, who was under the jurisdiction of Dr. Edward Wriths. Mengele, like the other doctors, determined who would die or not and was allowed to experiment on anyone he preffered. His victims either died during experimentation or purposely killed for post-mortem examination. Like most scientists in the camp, Mengele hired prisoners to perform the grisly tasks like desposing or killing bodies and evaluating his dead victims. While in the camp, he had about 400,000 victims. Children Survivors

Using fraternal and identical twins, he was interested in tracing genetic origins of various diseases. Usually the twins would die during the experiment process but if they didn't, they would get killed and then dissected. In the picture above, he sewed two children together to create conjoined twins, but they soon died because of an infection. It's unknown how many twins he killed but it is estimated to be about 3,000 set of twins with only less than 100 surviving. Dwarfs Known as the Ovitz family, the dwarfs pictured above, Mengele used them to discover the biological and pathological causes of the birth of dwarves. Members of the family recalled getting their bone marrow extracted, getting their teeth pulled out, and their eyelashes and hairs plucked. Mengele coupled the drawf women with the dwarf men to turn their wombs into laboratories in order to see what they could create. Others He injected chemicals in children's eyes in an attempt to change the colors. He was also known to take the eyes of his victims and pin them to his wall creating a wall full of eyes. He was also known to cut off limbs and perform surgery without anestisia in order to see what would happen after. dwarfs twins
