Sugar + Oxygen → Water + Carbon Dioxide Energy

5. Mitosis Division of cells.
DNA divided and cell divides into two new cells.

6. Passive Transport
Movement of particles across a cell membrane without use of energy.
Diffusion: movement of molecules from high concentration to low concentrations
Osmosis: diffusion of water through semi-permeable membrane

7. Active Transport
Movements of particles against a concentration gradient.
Cells need to move materials from low concentration to high concentration.

Endocytosis: cell uses energy to surround a particle and bring the particle into the cell
Exocytosis: particles enclosed in cell are released
