4. Why are innovations important for SUMP?
More attractive and interesting (e.g. for cities that either didn’t assess SUMP so far as something of value for them even though a lot of promotion activities tried to convince them),
More up-to-date (e.g. further developments for cities that have already a SUMP in first or second generation)
More effective
Higher quality (e.g. in countries where SUMPs are obligatory to receive money for implementation but the SUMP is delivered often in a quite low quality only to fulfil the requirement of having such a document)
