5 You make the world better
Roses are red Violets are blue You make the world better By just being you

6 I appreciate you

7 The Bible is not just a story of religion
or the history of God’s chosen people. It is the story of God’s love on display through His covenant journey with humanity.

8 Throughout history God has been attempting to lavish His love on His people,
a love on display when He reached out to humanity and connected with them in a formalized way. Dr. V. Moody

16 16…I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ,
Romans 1 16…I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ,  for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.

17 17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith;
as it is written,  “The just shall live by faith.”

20 God’s Matchless Faithfulness
Context

21 Dr. Van Moody – Pastor, author

22 The reason God desires us is simple: He is love, so He gives us love.
It’s who He is… Whether we realize it or not, we’re wired the same way as God with the desire to love and be loved

23 We have the same yearnings
for connection through relationships that God does…

24 …and sometimes we experience
the same love given-rejected-accepted cycle when our relationships don’t work out the way we hope. Desired by God

25 not by birthright or works.
The seemingly abrupt switch from a discussion of salvation to a reflection on the nation of Israel is intentional. It is indeed a continuation of Paul’s theme of justification by faith – not by birthright or works.

26 It is also an exposition of the Father’s fathomless faithfulness

27 God’s Matchless Faithfulness
Context Israel’s Election God’s faithfulness

28 With Christ as my witness, I speak with utter truthfulness.
Romans 9 With Christ as my witness, I speak with utter truthfulness. My conscience and the Holy Spirit confirm it.

29 2 My heart is filled with bitter sorrow
and unending grief 3 for my people, my Jewish brothers and sisters.

30 I would be willing to be forever cursed
—cut off from Christ!— if that would save them.

31 4 They are the people of Israel, chosen to be God’s adopted children.
God revealed His glory to them.

32 He made covenants with them and gave them His law.
He gave them the privilege of worshiping Him and receiving his wonderful promises.

33 5 Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob are their ancestors, and Christ Himself
was an Israelite as far as His human nature is concerned.

34 the One who rules over everything and is worthy of eternal praise!
And He is God, the One who rules over everything and is worthy of eternal praise! Amen.

36 to fulfill His promise to Israel?
6 Well then, has God failed to fulfill His promise to Israel?

37 No, for not all who are born into the nation of Israel
are truly members of God’s people!

38 7 Being descendants of Abraham
doesn’t make them truly Abraham’s children. For the Scriptures say…

39 “Isaac is the son through whom your descendants will be counted,”
though Abraham had other children, too.

40 8 This means that Abraham’s
physical descendants are not necessarily children of God. Only the children of the promise are considered to be Abraham’s children.

41 “I will return about this time next year, and Sarah will have a son.”
9 For God had promised, “I will return about this time next year, and Sarah will have a son.” 10 This son was our ancestor Isaac. When he married Rebekah, she gave birth to twins.

43 11 But before they were born,
before they had done anything good or bad, she received a message from God. (This message shows that God chooses people according to His own purposes;

44 their good or bad works.)
12 He calls people, but not according to their good or bad works.)

45 “Your older son will serve your younger son.”
She was told, “Your older son will serve your younger son.”  13 In the words of the Scriptures, “I loved Jacob, but I rejected Esau.”

46 “…the Lord’s hatred is against Esau’s idolatrous descendants
“…the Lord’s hatred is against Esau’s idolatrous descendants. In the same way, the Lord’s love of Jacob refers to Jacob’s descendants, who, although often rebellious and sometimes idolatrous, were His sovereignly elected people through whom the world’s Redeemer would come.” Various commentators

47 9 “Therefore know that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God…
What Next? Deuteronomy 7 9 “Therefore know that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God…

48 What Next? …who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments;

49 16 God gave the promises to Abraham
What Next?  Galatians 3 16 God gave the promises to Abraham and his child.

50 What Next? And notice that the Scripture doesn’t say
“to his children,” as if it meant many descendants. Rather, it says “to his child”— and that, of course, means Christ.

51 by whom you were [are being] called into the fellowship of His Son,
What Next? 1 Corinthians 1 9 God is faithful, by whom you were [are being] called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

52 5…[God] Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
What Next? Hebrews 13 5…[God] Himself has said,  “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”  6 So we may boldly say: “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?”

54 “Until we meet again I will cling
What Next? “Until we meet again I will cling to my Father in heaven. He will carry me through every second, every minute, every hour of every day. I read a verse this morning and I know God is reminding me that even now, in the midst of my deepest pain that He [is with me]:

55 What Next? ‘Because you are close to me and
always available my confidence will never be shaken, for I experience Your wrap-around presence every moment.’ Psalm 16:8 (TPT)

56 What Next? Burdened by guilt and shame?
Besieged by doubts, fear or anxiety? Feel spiritually dry and fruitless? Struggling with pain and/or ill health?

57 What Next? Feel discouraged and misunderstood? No one you can turn to?
God seems distant? Come to the end of your rope?

59 20 Likewise He also took the cup after supper, saying,
Luke 22 20 Likewise He also took the cup after supper, saying,  “This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is shed for you…”

60 In Remembrance of Me

61 (What A Wonderful Saviour)
He Hideth My Soul (What A Wonderful Saviour) 496

62 A wonderful Saviour is Jesus my Lord, A wonderful Saviour to me;
He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock, Where rivers of pleasure I see.

63 He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock   That shadows a dry, thirsty land; He hideth my life in the depths of His love,   And covers me there with His hand,     And covers me there with His hand.

64 A wonderful Saviour is Jesus my Lord,
He taketh my burden away; He holdeth me up and I shall not be moved,   He giveth me strength as my day.

65 He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock   That shadows a dry, thirsty land; He hideth my life in the depths of His love,   And covers me there with His hand,     And covers me there with His hand.

66 With numberless blessings
each moment He crowns,   And, filled with His fullness divine, I sing in my rapture, oh, glory to God,   For such a Redeemer as mine!

67 He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock   That shadows a dry, thirsty land; He hideth my life in the depths of His love,   And covers me there with His hand,     And covers me there with His hand.

68 When clothed in His brightness,
transported I rise   To meet Him in clouds of the sky, His perfect salvation, His wonderful love,   I’ll shout with the millions on high.

69 He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock   That shadows a dry, thirsty land; He hideth my life in the depths of His love,   And covers me there with His hand,     And covers me there with His hand.

70

71 Go with confidence into the days ahead,
trusting in God’s unfailing love and faithfulness. God will not abandon you…

72 for you are the work of His hands —His own creation—
and His love endures forever. So go in joy to love and serve the Lord! Anonymous
