Meet Our New Staff New Employees – hired as of August 2018

Allison Anderson Teacher School for the Blind Allison is a special educator who is beginning her dream job at West Virginia School for the Blind! Allison first became interested in the field of vision impairments after her mother lost her functional vision when Allison was about 6 years old. This kindergarten teacher spent the last four years teaching special education in Okinawa, Japan and is happy to be back home in the Mountain State.

Jennifer Bray Teacher School for the Blind Hello, my name is Jennifer Bray. I am 24 years old, and live in Cumberland, MD. I received my Bachelors Degree in Education from Frostburg State University. I have a 4 month old son named Eli. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, being outside, art, and expanding my education. I love working with children, and hope to make a difference in the lives of my new students at WVSDB!

Mary Ellifritz Cook III Foodservice Department Mary joins the WVSDB staff with 18 years of experience working with a veterinary office. She has two sons and enjoys cooking, canning and gardening.

Patrick Epperly Substitute Aide Instructional Program I chose to work at WVSDB because I am a graduate of WVSD. It feels good to come back and be a part of campus life again. I enjoyed growing up here and want to be a positive role model to other deaf children and give them a wonderful experience here just like I had.

Roy Jenree Art Teacher School for the Blind
I'm a huge nerd from Marshall County, West Virginia. I like Star Wars, Star Trek, Lord of the Rings, Futurama, X-Men, Avengers, etc. I live in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia. The Fine Arts are the coolest academic subject! Rock on! Be awesome! Do art!

Heavenli Fleming LPN Health Services I graduated from Mineral County School of Nursing in I am a new LPN. My hobbies include taking pictures and doing crafts. I chose to work at WVSDB because I enjoyed my clinical rotation during school. I like working with children, and the school environment.

Kayleen Painter Teacher School for the Blind
Hi! My name is Kayleen Painter. I am from Cumberland, MD where I was born and raised. I enjoy spending my spare time with family, friends, and two standard poodles! I was a teacher for Early Head Start in Allegany County for almost 3 years. I recently decided to join the WVSDB team and I am looking forward to working with everyone!

Cole Roomsburg LPN Health Services I graduated from Mineral County School of Nursing in I have been a LPN for about 1.5 years. My hobbies include helping coach little league and helping in the community. I have also been an EMT and Firefighter in the community for years. I chose WVSDB because of the environment, children, and location.
