We are being intentional with the selection criteria, applications and our numbers of seats that are requested. All of our programs are college delivered at the college with the exception of one that is not listed. Steps for Accelerated Programs
Student demonstrates interest in Tech courses in the subject area Student completes Co-op placement related to the subject area Student completes the Application Package OYAP Coordinator/Consultant reviews Package Interviews with Mohawk College (TDA) Successful applicants and parents/guardians invited to information session Pat

Application Package The student’s application package must include the following: Student’s contact information and signatures (parent/guardian if required) Credit summary sheet OYAP participant section one and two, (participation form and request to register) Student’s resume Teacher reference form (2 is preferred) Student questionnaire re: why they want to go into an apprenticeship Joachim

Student Selection Criteria
Have previously attended a Cooperative Education program in the related field Be minimum 17 years of age with 24 credits. Have completed a minimum of college level english and math Be recommended by subject area teacher, Co-op teacher, student success, etc. May benefit from the extra supports available to them Demonstrate maturity needed for success at the College level Demonstrate success in College level English and Math courses Lee Ann 17 years of Age - Highlight this as our practice When students do not have english and math we have other strategies like having the students do a dual credit before to try on college.

Student Support Ensures that dual credit teachers, co-op teachers, guidance counsellors, student success teachers and resource teachers are available to support our students. Use the resources available such as tutors, and accessibility staff to address the needs of students. Ensure the Training Agreement , OCOT registration and registration process at the college is completed before the beginning of class Dual Credit teachers Interpreters Peer tutoring Joachim Students are encouraged take advantage of the various supports available to them. However there are some other areas where we can help to ensure a smooth process. This year we used an interpreter for some of our students in the AST program to assist in their demonstration of learning.

Information session - Mohawk is there and we separate the programs as well as doing a team approach, parents are there, teachers are there. Visitation days - for co-op teacher twice during the 8 weeks. Interviews - we do this every time we have new students
