Studying for Maths

To start with It is important to spend time wisely and productively.
Clear the area of any distractions (Yes this includes social media). Plan when you are going to study and stick to the plan. You will need to study in addition to set homework. Chunk your time into manageable chunks. Get ready and study for 20 minutes, then have a brain break.

Also… Ensure you take note of any questions that you are having difficulties with. You may wish to revisit this work. Create mini revision books, palm cards, study notes. Ensure you always check your work. Use resources available to help you with any misunderstandings Use colour to highlight- important information that you need to remember what you have had trouble with – so you can go back over it.

In each topic there are many resources available to you.
There are powerpoints to help you understand the work. There are also additional worksheets for practice. You can choose what you need help with. If there are no solutions, as Ms Beeforth to write up a solution sheet.

At the end of each chapter there is a Chapter summary.
Use this to write your own summary notes. Use it as a checklist to ensure you know all the content. (Remember to use the Term Outline to check what parts of the chapter we have covered.)

There are Multiple-choice questions, short answer and extended response. Remember to answer only the questions covered in class

Summary There are plenty of resources available to you.
These resources can be used with and without technology. You never have to wait for your teacher to provide you with a ‘revision’ sheet. It is all here waiting for you. It is advisable to be constantly studying for maths every week. Yes this includes the holidays and Week 1 of term. Ensure the revision challenges you and you do not just do the questions that come easy to you
