Promotes former KGB officer, Vladimir Putin to PM D. 12/1999: Yeltsin resigns Appoints Putin President E. 2000: Putin wins Russian election for President F. 2004: Putin reelected G. 2008: Putin cannot run for the presidency again 1. Is appointed Prime Minister by his successor, Dmitry Medvedev. H. March 2012: Putin was re-elected to the presidency 1. Appoints Medvedev as Prime Minister
