2 The Challenge Barriers to entrepreneurship include access to networks, raising capital and basic education on how to launch a business Lawyers can and do play an important role in bridging the resources-knowledge gap Outside traditional clinics that provide legal and strategic advice to entrepreneur-clients, what can be done?

Method: Opportunity for law students to provide educational workshops to underserved high school students Target audience is high school students in business/finance/entrepreneurship programs Many law schools face a gap in pro bono offerings for students interested in transactional practice Goal is to offer pro bono hours (approx. half the hours needed for graduation) Potential for conversion into course for credit

8 Pro Bono Requirement ABA Standard 303(b) requires law schools to “provide substantial opportunities to students for … (2) student participation in pro bono legal services, including law-related public service activities.” Interpretation provides that “law-related public service activities include…(iii) participating in activities providing information about justice, the law or the legal system to those who might not otherwise have such information….”
