Prophecy Prophecy and its fulfillment are one of the two bases of our faith in Christ. The other is Miracles. This series will deal with some Bible prophecies and their fulfillment in an effort to see just how strong a support for our faith prophecy really is. Let’s begin by looking at prophecy in general.

Prophecy In Type In Word Or Vision
Prophecy and its fulfillment are one of the two bases of our faith in Christ. The other is Miracles. This series will deal with some Bible prophecies and their fulfillment in an effort to see just how strong a support for our faith prophecy really is. Let’s begin by looking at prophecy in general.

Not always foretelling 2500 or more in Bible?
Prophecy A Revelation from God Not always foretelling 2500 or more in Bible? Prophecy is, in it’s most basic sense, a revelation from God. It may be from God’s own mouth, or through a prophet to whom God spoke or gave a vision, and that prophet spoke for God to mankind. All real prophecy comes from God. But it does not always have to do with foretelling the future. Of those prophecies that do foretell future events, some have counted about 2500 in the Bible. Of those, at least 2000 have already been fulfilled. This of course depends on who you believe and what you believe about the kingdom and the end of time.

Fulfillment of prophecy is the most potent form of evidence
In the sense of foretelling future events, prophecy is the most potent form of evidence of God’s existence to those of us who have never seen a Bible miracle. Outside of the Creation itself, the written prophecies of the Bible make up an unshakable base for our faith in God and His Son, Jesus Christ. If a word from God foretelling future events comes true, that makes us trust in Him and His existence more. We will be looking at some of the most prominent of the fulfilled prophecies and prophecies in progress of being fulfilled. When this is accomplished, I believe that no fair-minded person could, or would, doubt the existence of God and His hand in the events of this earth. If over 2000 such prophecies come true…what can we say to these things???

knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. Let’s begin by looking at the facts concerning prophecy as God has revealed them to us… To prove our statement before that all prophecy is from God, we can observe that from this passage in 2 Peter. If it came from God, and if it was foretelling future events, then it came true (or will come true)… 2 Peter

When a prophet speaks in the name of the LORD, if the thing does not happen or come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him. It is such an understood thing that God puts it this way to the children of Israel… Deut

Remember the former things of old, For I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me, Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times things that are not yet done, Saying, 'My counsel shall stand, And I will do all My pleasure,' God calls upon Israel to observe the fulfillment of prophecy and trust in and obey Him… Isa

Prophecy #1 Seed of the woman…
Let us take a look at the first recorded “prophecy” foretelling future things. It comes from the mouth of God in pronouncing judgments upon the Serpent in Genesis 3.
9
And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel. That God is speaking to Satan in the form of a serpent is almost universally understood. Some deny that this is speaking of anything other than man’s enmity with snakes. Or, some say, it is referring to the enmity between the righteous and the evil offspring, the evil being children of the Devil (1 John 3.10) But the Scriptures indicate otherwise. Genesis 3.15
10
So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. It is clear from this verse in Revelation 12.9 that the Serpent is also known as Satan, the Devil… That the statement in Genesis 3.15 refers to Christ and Satan is also clear from this next verse… Revelation 12.9
11
And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly…
We can follow this arrow pointing us to the final prophecy, the book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ, and see the final battle between these not-at-all equal foes. The final blow will be delivered to Satan’s head by the very One whose heal he bruised on Calvary. Romans 16.20
12
Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came among them. Satan and the Lord are not co-equal. Satan is a created being, the Lord is not. The statements in the book of Job concerning the limited freedom of Satan are proof of his inferiority to God. The statement in Genesis pronounces eternally that God has already won this one-sided battle. Job 1.6
13
But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law… As to the “Seed of the woman,” there is little doubt. Galatians 4.4
14
For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.
As to the “Seed of the woman,” there is little doubt. 1 John 3.8b
15
Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil… As to when this destruction of Satan was accomplished…it began at the cross and will be consummated at the Judgment. Heb. 2.14
16
The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever. Satan’s final end… Revelation 20.10
17
Prophecy We are waiting now for the final outcome of that prophecy in Genesis, but enough has been fulfilled and revealed that we can know with certainty the outcome.
