April 10 1861, CSA ordered the surrender

The confederate capital was moved from
Montgomery Al. To Richmond Va. The union capital was Washington D.C South-population 9 million (3 1/2 million was slaves) North-population 22 million Well trained army, industry, RR, Both thought the war would be over fast and they would win.
