People read because…: They enjoy it Teachers make them do it They need some info They learn from it Reading: improves our language (enriches our vocabulary) and knowledge supports our imagination we can read much faster (mostly) We can explore new places, cultures, lives WHY NOT? audio records brief contents available everywhere (for school) TV, films, video, DVDs, the Internet, downloading Consequences: no imagination no creativity poor vocabulary poor grammar wasted wisdom There is A LOT OF WISDOM IN BOOKS!!!
