EMP AEP MEP Enhanced Art Programme (EAP) Visit the website for more information: EAP is a 2-year art programme offered at Secondary 3 & 4 in select schools The Enhanced Art Programme (EAP) exposes students to different traditional and new art media. The learning and enrichment programme will also expose students to art, design and media in the creative industries. The 2-year Upper Secondary Programme prepares students for the GCE O-Level Art or Higher Art. Students will also have opportunities to learn how art is applied in the creative industries. EAP EMP AEP MEP Enhanced Music Programme (EMP) Visit the website for more information: EMP is a 2-year music programme offered at Secondary 3 & 4 in select schools The Enhanced Music Programme (EMP) exposes students to different music traditions, theory and practices in the creative industries. Students will have the opportunities to deepen their understanding and skills in the different fields of music studies.   The 2-year Upper Secondary Programme prepares students for the GCE O-Level Music or Higher Music. 5 EAP EMP AEP MEP WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS OF EAP/EMP? Gain entry into EAP/EMP schools Good in making and presenting art; performing and creating music Keen interest and willingness to commit to two year study in Art or Music at the Upper Secondary level Pass school-based selection exercise at the end of Sec 2 To join this programme, you need to meet these requirements : First, you must be admitted into a school that offer the enhanced art or music programme that you want For art, You have to be good at making and presenting your art Similarly for music, you have to be good at performing and creating music. At the end of secondary 2, you will opt to take the programme. You have to pass the selection test conducted by the school. 26 Art Elective Programme (AEP)
EAP EMP AEP MEP Art Elective Programme (AEP) AEP is a 4-year art programme offered from secondary 1 in select schools The 4-year AEP provides an in-depth art learning in art forms, media, processes, history & theory. 27 Where are the AEP (Sec) Schools?
5 EAP EMP AEP MEP Where are the AEP (Sec) Schools? Bukit Panjang Government High CHIJ (Toa Payoh) Secondary Hwa Chong Institution (High School) Nanyang Girls’ High School National Junior College Victoria School Zhonghua Secondary School AEP Centre The AEP is only offered at these schools. If students are interested in the Programme, students will need to be enrolled in the schools and pass an internal selection test. Since 2016, the Secondary AEP at National Junior College also offers the programme to Sec 1 Express students who are not in any AEP or EAP schools. Achievers Rooted in Values Soaring Beyond Limits

5 EAP EMP AEP MEP WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS OF AEP? Qualify for Express stream Good in making and presenting art Keen interest and willingness to commit to four years of in-depth study in Art or Music Pass selection exercise, e.g. Draw from life/imagination Create original object(s)/image(s) Present a Portfolio Talk/write about artworks/images Work with others to create artworks To enrol in Art Elective Programme, you need to meet these requirements : First, you must qualify for Express stream Then , you have to be in a school that offer the AEP; OR If you did not manage to get a posting to the school, and if you’re not enrolled in an EAP school, you can still apply to offer the programme at the AEP centre at the National Junior College (NJC) Similar to the enhanced art/music programme, You have to be good at making and presenting your art. You also have to pass a selection test. Once you are successfully enrolled, you must also be prepared to stay on and complete the 4-year programme. The selection exercises may consist of a few activities like drawing, artmaking, presenting a portfolio, talking or writing artworks, or creating artworks with others Achievers Rooted in Values Soaring Beyond Limits

29 Music Elective Programme (MEP)
EAP EMP AEP MEP Music Elective Programme (MEP) MEP is a 4-year Music programme offered from Secondary 1 in select schools The 4-year MEP provides an in-depth music learning in different musical genres and traditions, music history and theory. At the end of 4 years, students sit for the GCE O-level Higher Music Exam, a more challenging subject than O-Level Music. Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) Catholic High School (Secondary) CHIJ St Nicholas (Secondary) Crescent Girls’ School Dunman High School Methodist Girls’ School (Secondary) Raffles Institution Raffles Girls’ School Tanjong Katong Girls’ School Temasek Junior College MEP Centre MEP Centre The MEP is only offered at these schools. If students are interested in the Programme, students will need to be enrolled in the schools. Since 2016, 2 schools, Anglo-Chinese School [ACS(I)] and Dunman High School also offer the programme to Express students who are not enrolled in MEP or EMP schools. 5 EAP EMP AEP MEP WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS OF MEP? Qualify for Express stream Good in performing and creating music Keen interest and willingness to commit to four years of in-depth study in Music Have attained the following qualifications: a pass in Grade Three Practical and Theory/Practical Musicianship exams of the ABRSM or the equivalent standard from other exam boards OR in the absence of the above qualifications, a pass in both the Selection Test and Practical Audition on an instrument (e.g. piano, rebab, erhu, sitar) Similarly for the Music Elective Programme, you must qualify for Express stream; be in a school that offer the Music Elective Programme ; OR if you did not manage to get a posting to the school, and if you’re enrolled in an EMP school, you can still apply to offer the programme at the MEP centres at Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) [ACS(I)] and Dunman High School (DHS). You have to be good in performing and creating music. If you do not have Grade 3 music qualifications or the equivalent, you will need to pass a selection test and practical audition Achievers Rooted in Values Soaring Beyond Limits

5 EAP EMP AEP MEP WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS OF MEP? Students have to sit for the MEP Selection Exercise if They are applying for the MEP Centres; OR Demand exceeds the number of MEP places available in MEP schools The Selection Exercise comprises the following: Music Listening and Analysis Music Theory Practical Audition (2 contrasting pieces on an instrument/voice in any style of a total duration of 5 min) Interview If you’re applying for the MEP centres, you will have to sit for a MEP Selection Exercise. If you’re admitted to a MEP school, you will only need to sit for a Selection Exercise if you don’t have a Grade 3 or equivalent qualification and if there are more applications than places. The Selection Exercise will comprise Music listening and analysis Music theory Practical audition, and Interview Achievers Rooted in Values Soaring Beyond Limits
