1950’s Research Project Objective: In groups, students will investigate different aspects of the lifestyles of teenagers in the 1950s.

Topics: Games/Toys Music Art Film Politics Fashion Technology
Family life Major historical events Gender roles Food Sports

Components of Project:
Complete research on your topic. Create a web infographic/flyer using one of the following websites: wix.com You will need to create a free account with the website of your choice. You may use other websites, but you must clear it with me first. Create a Works Cited section, giving credit to the websites you used to create your project. Present your group project to the class.

Group Roles (ALL group members will participate in the research portion of the project):
Task Master* – make sure the group completes all the assigned tasks and keep group members on track. Records Keeper – keep record of all resources the group uses in order to document them with your Works Cited. Recorder – responsible for writing anything that needs to be written down in order to plan the infographic/flyer Designer – use their laptop to design the project as the group collaborates.

Students are expected to:
Participate and collaborate. Maintain a positive working environment. Become experts on their topic and learn their information. Present their understanding of life in the 1950s. Listen attentively and learn from the other groups during presentations. Complete a group member critique at the end of the project (semi- anonymous - only the teacher will read these; not peers)

Timeline: You will have time in class to work on your projects. Do not waste your time! All students will present on the same day. Update: Due Monday, May 15th for all classes. Update: Because it is a short class period, presentations will count as extra credit. If you are absent, your group will present without you!
