Art that resemble life. Abstract Art: Art that does not attempt to represent reality. Foreground: The part of a view that is nearest to the observer. Middle-ground: The middle of a painting or the area between the foreground and the background, is often where the main action takes place. Objects in this area look smaller than, and are often placed partially behind foreground objects. Background This is situated in the distance (opposed to foreground ).

10 Today’s art project you will be will be creating your own "garden by the sea".  
Name the foreground, middle-ground and background in the Garden at Sainte-Adresse painting. Draw 2 light horizontal lines on white construction paper to establish these 3 areas. Students will use pencil to draw there own version of the Garden at Sainte-Adresse. Finally use oil pastels to add color. The final image can be any type scene must include flowers and water.
