How Human Lust and Desire turns Blessings into Curses (Genesis 2 & 3)
Many sins are really just misuses or abuses of God’s blessings. From the time God placed man in the Garden of Eden, human lust and desire have turned blessings into curses. The beauty of nature has been made an idol. The beauty of the human has been turned into an object of lust through immodest dress, modern dancing and pornography. We must recognize the sinful nature of these activities and avoid them.

2. Turning Nature’s Beauty Into an Idol
Ancient people worshiped the stars, the trees, animals, and the human form.
Moses warned Israel (Deuteronomy 4:19; 12:2)
But the Israelites did exactly what they were told not to do (1 Kings 14:22-24; Rom. 1:20-25)
Modern people do essentially the same thing, serving the creation rather than the Creator!
They’ll neglect spiritual responsibilities
They’ll dress immodestly

3. Turning the Beauty of the Human Form into an Object of Lust
God made the human form to be attractive and admired by man & woman in the context of marriage. (Song. 1:15-16; 4:11; Hebrews 13:4)
But men use the human form to encourage and provoke lust (Galatians 5:19)

4. Three ways the Human Form is Used to Evoke Lust
Wearing Immodest clothing (Proverbs 7:6-10; 1 Timothy 2:9-10; Romans 14:13; Matthew 13:41-42)
Modern Dancing (Galatians 5:21)
Pornography (Job 31:1-4; Matthew 5:28-29)

5. Sexual Temptation is a Perversion of God’s Blessings
Sexual temptation is strong!
Don’t go there! (Proverbs 5:3-5, 8)
Flee it! (2 Timothy 2:22)
Make no provision for it! (Romans 13:13-14)
Don’t do it just because everyone else is! (1 Timothy 5:22)
