2. Provost’s Excellence in Teaching Award
Dr. Chris Kukk received the Provost’s Excellence in Teaching Award, December, 2009.

3. School of Visual & Performing Arts
The Housatonic Valley Cultural Alliance presented an award to the School of Visual and Performing Arts, October, 2009 for “enhancing the creative environment, improving the quality of life, and expanding opportunities in the region.”

4. Building a Bridge
Building a Bridge to Improve Student Success received $50,000 from Praxair, June, 2009 and $100,000 of federal money, Fall, 2009.

5. B.A. Musical Theatre Program
During the Fall, 2009, the Theatre Department received approval from the DHE to offer the B.A. Musical Theatre.

6. Global Academy
Dr. Alba Skar along with Dr. Theodora Pinou conducted the Global Academy in Granada, Nicaragua during Summer, 2009.

7. Ancell School of Business
Ancell School of Business received notification in September, 2009 that their application for eligibility was accepted by AACSB.

8. RN-BSN Program
WCSU and Danbury Hospital Partnership offered the RN-BSN program to 15 students at Danbury Hospital in a cohort model for Fall, 2009.

9. Hancock Student Leadership Program
18 students were graduated from this program November, 2009.  These students completed a one year applied leadership project that directly impacted campus life.
