7. Split Class
Mr. Patterson has created two different ways for you to learn about religion in the Middle East.
Option 1
Work with Mr. Patterson. He will help you through each step and there will be little homework.
Option 2
Work largely independently. Work with high school level readings. Watch YouTube videos including those by John Greene. INSERT SNIP OF JOHN GREENE.

People protesting often have valid concerns (dictators, natural resources), however use of religious language/symbols can change peaceful protests to violence. Justified by relgion.

Why were some people offended by
Trump’s comments and Muslim countries?
You can’t take the actions of a few people, and then condemn/judge a larger group. This is hardly the only issue, it also happens when the president talks about immigration. Address what the president’s supporters would say. Identify what research would need to be done in order to justify claims.
