Financial Aid Update - June 23, 2016

The Team & Our Task Evaluate system functionality and business requirements Simplification to take advantage of the delivered product Focus on outcomes, not processes Tina: Introduce Team, especially Paula and give high-level view of our goal here on the project Role of the team is to, as a group, understand the delivered functionality of Campus Solutions. We will ensure that our current business requirements and processes can be met through CS. That includes identifying business processes or policies that could be simplified to take advantage of the delivered system while still meeting our business needs. The goal is not to reproduce our current process in the new system, but rather to improve our ability to administer financial aid by bringing together the delivered functionality and the best of our technical knowledge and business expertise.

Interactive Design and Prototype Sessions (IDP)
What We’re Doing Now Interactive Design and Prototype Sessions (IDP) Document Business Requirements/Processes Learn System Design Options Identify Gap Areas Mike: What have we been doing? IDP sessions involve in-depth discussions about our business process and required activities. We learn about the delivered functionality of campus solutions and ways we can utilize those features to meet our needs. In some areas, there are gaps between what we need and what the system offers. An example of a gap is state programs—which is not delivered simply because of the variation from state to state. This gap will be met through a customization. As you can see from this picture of Max, we have been doing a lot of research and documentation. We have met with Connie to determine the nuances of the calendars and attendance patterns of the unique MBA programs to ensure that we can provide a solution for processing aid for her students.
